As you all know, hanami, the viewing of the cherry blossom might be one of the most popular events in Japan. There are some beautiful viewing spots in the Shibuya area, where SEIBU Shibuya store is located. It is not far so make sure to check it out after you are done shopping at the department store. The area is called Sakuragaoka-Cho and is located a 2-minute walk from the south exit of Shibuya Station. Sakura-dori (Cherry Blossom Street) in Sakuragaoka-Cho, is as the name suggests, lined with cherry trees that you can enjoy as you stroll up a gentle slope. Since the cherry blossoms are on the sidewalks, some cafes and restaurants along Sakura-dori have terrace seating, so you can enjoy the cherry blossoms while sitting outside at a café enjoying a drink or something to eat.
During the cherry blossom season, the area is bustling with people and for those who work in Shibuya, it's a great place to sneak out and refresh your mind with the blooming beauty.
