"The deep Shibuya," Namikibashi area is on the Meiji street heading for Ebisu. It used to be a well-kept secret known only to a selected few, but recently, with the development of office buildings, more and more people are visiting. Still, visitors mainly consist of local residents and office workers, and there are still few tourists.
Namikibashi is known as a small area packed with popular gourmet restaurants. Among them, I would recommend the extremely popular restaurant "Yamashita Honki Udon" that always has a long line outside, "Gyumon," a yakiniku restaurant in an atmospheric traditional building, "Namikibashi Nakamura," an izakaya (Japanese style pub) with high-quality Japanese food, and "Buy Me Stand," where you can have a delicious breakfast with excellent hot sandwiches. Furthermore, there are also two famous shrines and an overly stylish public bath located in the area!
There are way too many great spots to fit into one post so let's save a few until next time. With that said, are you planning to visit Shibuya? Be sure to drop by the Namikibashi area along with the Seibu Shibuya store!
