"Cat Street" is the name of a 1 km long promenade connecting Shibuya and Harajuku. The official name of the street is Kyuu-Shibuya-Gawa-Yuuhodou (= Former Shibuya River Promenade). As the name indicates, the promenade was created on the bed of the Shibuya River that had been diverted underground.
Many people are drawn to Cat Street by the wide selection of high-quality gourmet & atmospheric cafes found here. Furthermore, Cat Street is home to both the latest fashion and carefully selected vintage shops. There are so many unique shops and photogenic spots here that you won't have time to put down your camera!
The promenade is only a 15-minute walk, but there are so many things to stop and see along the way. Take your time and you could easily spend 3 hours here. You can access Cat Street from both Shibuya and Harajuku! Next time in Tokyo, make sure to visit this exciting area!
